Year-End World Affairs Council VIP Reception

Once a month during the school year the World Affairs Council of Jacksonville hosts a lecture at the University of North Florida's University Center for their Speaker Series. The series is included in the University of North Florida's Distinguished Voices Series, and each lecture at the University Center is preceded by a VIP reception for members of the World Affairs Council.

Each reception is generally the same with two open wine bars and several appetizer options on a buffet at the center of the room, but since this reception was the last one of the school year, the World Affairs Council choose a couple of additional options. The first option that they chose was an action station for Cajun-seared scallops atop a crawfish risotto with a Creole sauce. Guests watched as their dish was cooked and then elegantly presented by two members of the In Any Event Catering kitchen staff. In addition to the action station was a buffet with duck breast canape and a gourmet fruit and cheese platter that included a selection of baked brie.

The second option that the World Affairs Council chose was a first for In Any Event Catering: Once the lecture was over the VIP guests returned to the Board of Trustees room where glasses of champagne were set out. Once each guest had picked up a glass they closed out the Speaker Series with a champagne toast.
