Girlfriend Connection Fashion Show Reception

In Any Event catered a fun reception for the Girlfriend Connection Fashion Show, hosted by the women of the Jewish Federation of Jacksonville, on May 12. The fashion show was held in sections three through six of the ballroom, and the two front sections were used for the reception. When guests stepped in to the main hallway of the University Center they were greeted with served hors d'oeuvres -- yellow gazpacho shots and portobello and Swiss cheese sliders -- as well as two bartenders serving wine and martinis off of a customized martini menu.

Once the guests made their way in to the reception they had a variety of food stations to visit where more hors d'oeuvres had been set out. The first station had grilled sesame tuna on rice crackers and phyllo pouches with asiago cheese and asparagus tips. The next station had fried macaroni-n-cheese and blackened mahi skewers served with Cajun ranch dressing. The third station had miniature fried spring rolls served with sweet-and-sour sauce and more of the portobello sliders, and the last station had caprese kabobs and traditional mini potato pancakes served with orange chutney. Because we knew ahead of time what colors our clients would be using in their decor, we were able to coordinate our food displays to match. A trip to the dollar store produced a few pink baskets and black picture frames for the food indicator signs, and pink tulle that we already had on hand added a final touch. The clients created centerpieces for the tables with small glass vases containing pink gel beads that were illuminated by small battery-powered lights hidden amongst the beads. The end result was a chic, Sex and the City inspired atmosphere that was enjoyed by all who attended.
